Hard to believe it's already our final Setlist of July, but the month is wrapping up with some great opportunities to check out live music. The city of International Falls makes its first appearance with a KAXE favorite Twin Cities musician making the long trip up to the border. Aitkin is celebrating its largest live music weekend of the year with the Ripplesippi Fest, and a 2024 Riverfest performer is playing in Coleraine.
Nashwauk Area Community Fund Donates to N-K Art Department
NASHWAUK—The mission of the Nashwauk Keewatin High School (NKHS) Art Department is to foster student creativity and enhance critical thinking skills. By using a combination of group instruction alongside individual choice projects, students complete their artwork using innovative problem-solving strategies. A $2000 grant from the Nashwauk Area Community Fund (NACF) for adding additional equipment and supplies will allow the Art Department to further challenge students with new and exciting tools and techniques, resulting in a deeper understanding of the Visual Arts. Funds awarded will be used to purchase a ceramic baking kiln, two pottery wheels, two air brush kits, and 22 tabletop easels. The Nashwauk Area Community Fund is a community-based fund providing discretionary grants to projects and initiatives in the Nashwauk area to improve the quality of life for local citizens and provide a way for citizens and businesses to give to their local community. This fund serves nonprofit organizations in Nashwauk, Keewatin, Nashwauk Township, Buck Lake, Pengilly, Goodland and Swan Lake areas.
