Springtown P&Z recommends rezoning for Goshen Road Mexican restaurant
SPRINGTOWN — Springtown City Council will soon have to consider whether to approve a zoning change that would make way for a Mexican restaurant on Goshen Road. During its July 11 meeting, Springtown Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend the city council change the zoning at 301 Goshen Road from single family residential to commercial. The council will have the final say on the change, and if the members pass it, the next step would be to consider the plat and site plan for the property.
FeedLot fun with new coordinator
AZLE — Last month, the city’s food truck park at 225 Church St.— The FeedLot — began operating under new management after the hiring of special events coordinator Amanda Scott. Previously, city community and marketing specialist Kristin Pegues managed the day-to-day operations of the park along with her other duties. Pegues was elated to hand over the reins. The city is also excited to introduce more activities and events for visitors to enjoy with Scott now solely dedicated to organizing and promoting the food truck and farmers market venue.
BRW Architects Designs New Five Bay Saginaw (TX) Central Fire Station
The new Central Fire Station for the city of Saginaw, Texas, which was designed by Brown Reynolds Watford (BRW) Architects, has five double-deep, drive-through apparatus bays, a fire administration headquarters, Emergency Operations Center (EOC), firefighter living and working quarters, and training, and logistical storage in two buildings on the same site.
AHS grad wins bronze at DOD Warrior Games
AZLE — Just a few years ago, Azle High School graduate Tiffany Clark worried she might never walk again. Today, she’s found renewed purpose as an athlete. Clark ran again for the first time at the Navy Wounded Warriors’ Intro Adaptive Sports camp in January 2024 and last month, she achieved more physical feats at the Department of Defense Warrior Games. Her problems first began after she suffered a torn ACL twice — once in 2016 and again in 2021 — during Navy physical training. The second injury, which Clark described as significantly worse, was compounded by a blood clot that prolonged her recovery.
