As Trinity Metro plans its expansion into Fort Worth’s Medical District, the agency is promoting low-cost, long-term parking at five TEXRail stations. For $5 a day, riders to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport can park in designated long-term lots at TEXRail stations, three of which are in Fort Worth. Two others are in North Richland Hills.
Peaches in the warehouse puts food on the table
A sold-out event in Parker County was something sweet for guests and something good for families who need a little help getting food on the table. Tarrant Area Food Bank West hosted its third annual Peaches in the Warehouse event. Guests toured the food bank in Weatherford to learn about distribution efforts then dined on peach-infused food, drinks and dessert.

With new Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos joining the Horned Frogs for 2024, the TCU defense was looking for an influx of depth and talent at the linebacker position, bringing in key targets from the portal, including Top 25 transfer LB San Diego State Cooper McDonald. The Justin Northwest grad spent two years with the Washington Huskies out of high school, playing in all 16 games of the 2020-21 seasons making 28 tackles including 5.5 for loss with 1.5 sack. McDonald then joined the Aztecs for another two seasons, playing all 24 games with 18 starts for the Mountain West squad. While at San Diego State, McDonald made 84 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 5 pass break-ups. McDonald will compete for a top spot on the interior linebacker depth chart with fellow transfer addition Kaleb Elarms-Orr and veteran Frogs like Johnny Hodges and Shad Banks.
Kuehl places ninth in javelin for University of North Texas
DENTON, Texas – Mackenzie Kuehl placed in the top 10 in the javelin for the University of North Texas at the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Kuehl, a graduate of Paola High School, had a throw of 137 feet for ninth place in the outdoor conference championships held in Atlanta.

Argyle ISD Board denounces changes to Title IX
The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees on Monday approved a resolution denouncing the United States Department of Education’s changes to Title IX over gender identity. Title IX states that “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. In April, the Department of Education proposed redefining “sex” to include gender identity, which would allow biological males who identify as females to use the women’s restroom, and vice versa.

Dallas man kills woman, then himself in apparent murder-suicide
DALLAS, Texas — A man and woman were found dead in a Dallas apartment in what authorities are calling an apparent murder-suicide. On July 15, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Dallas Fire and Rescue responded to a call for a health and welfare check in the 3400 block of Mahanna Street. The preliminary investigation determined that DFR forced entry into the apartment and found 26-year-old Solmaira Vazquez Castillo in the bathroom with stab wounds.
Dallas convenience store clerk gunned down during robbery
A woman is facing robbery and murder charges after she fatally shot a store clerk in Dallas last Monday, according to the Dallas Police Department. The shooting occurred at A&A Mart in the 300 block of S. Marsalis Avenue at about 5:45 a.m. on Monday, July 8, the police department said in a news release.
