Letter to the Editor: A big thank you

As we close the book on another successful Whitaker Bank Boyle County Fair, we would like to thank the community, our sponsors, our carnival, and all our volunteers. We couldn’t have made this happen without the support of Tre and Brooke Owens for allowing us to use the property on Smoky Way!   We couldn’t make this large community event possible without all of those coming together.  We would also like to thank the City of Danville, DPD, DFD, EMS, public works, the city manager, the water department, city utility engineer, the Mayor, the City Commission, the County Judge Executive, Fiscal Court, Boyle County Jailer Brain Wofford, Chad Greene, and Fred Edwards. Boyle County Road Department Foreman Roger Johnson, Angie Muncy from the solid waste department, Tim Webb, Dr. David Williams, Russ Brown, The Allen Company, Caldwell Stone, the Advocate Messenger, Jeff Kuerzi, Kenny Stamper, Shane Trent, and many other numerous city and county employees and officials.

Our backbone of this event is our handful of volunteers that work numerous sleepless hours planning, setting up, and helping to put on each of the nightly events.  I would like to thank each of our fair board members: Scott Hammons, David & Jenny Owens, Micheal & Evan Owens, Paula Hatfield, Shanna True, Billie Jo Graves, Martina Eckler, Chris Goodlett, Dakota Goodlett, Buck & Angie Sawyer, Kaytrina, Kaylee & Abigail Leathers, David Elliott, Michael Whitis, Alethea Bruzek, Mike Faulkner, Paige Eckler, Bill Gasper & Jessica Harris.   We would also like to thank our volunteers: Jacob Smith, Landon Miller, Eli Goodlett, Whitey, Gavin Hensley, Eddie Carey, Debbie Smith, Mackenzie Bowling, Vicki, Geri Price, Carl Leathers, Brandon Hamiliton, Brittany, and all our parking and ticket booth crew.  We would also like to thank our vendors who set up and sold some of the best food you will ever put in your mouth!

As we begin to open a new chapter for the 2025 Whitaker Bank Boyle County Fair, we are extremely excited to start the planning process for new events and attractions for you, the patrons.  Our goal as a board is to find and have new and bigger events each year for our community.
