    Boyne Thunder Poker Run roars through Northern Michigan waters

    CHARLEVOIX — Powerboats raced through Northern Michigan waters on Saturday, July 13 during the annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run.

    The unique boating event features high-performance boats cutting through the waters of Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan on a 150-mile journey that starts in Boyne City and travels through Charlevoix, Elk Rapids, Northport, Bay Harbor and Harbor Springs.

    Spectators were able to get up close and personal with the boats at the Boyne City marina on Friday, July 12. On Saturday morning, the boats traveled through Charlevoix, where crowds lined the piers to watch them jet out into Lake Michigan.
