Man Arrested for Kidnapping and Robbing Girlfriend

Miami-Dade, FL - A Miami-Dade man was arrested on Wednesday following allegations of kidnapping his girlfriend and assaulting her during a forced drive to Boynton Beach over a financial dispute.

Yosmar Yzquierdo, 30, is accused of coercively obtaining his girlfriend's car keys in the Naranja neighborhood of southwest Miami-Dade and compelling her to transport him to Boynton Beach, where she intended to collect money from a friend.

According to Miami-Dade Police, Yzquierdo assaulted the victim repeatedly during the journey.

The arrest report states that upon reaching Boynton Beach and retrieving the money, Yzquierdo forcefully seized it from her.

He then drove back to his residence, demanded her purse, and appropriated additional money he found.

Afterwards, Yzquierdo returned the victim to her home and fled.

The incident led to his arrest by Miami-Dade Police at approximately 11:55 p.m.

Following his arrest, Yzquierdo, who denied the accusations after being read his Miranda rights but confirmed his presence at the incident locations, is now facing charges of strong-arm robbery, kidnapping, and battery.

He remains detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with bond details pending.

The police report did not specify the underlying reasons for the monetary dispute between Yzquierdo and the victim.
