Keith Urban Surprises Fans with pop-up concert....at Buc-ee's in Athens, AL

Yes, you read that right. Grammy award winning and multi-platinum selling country music superstar Keith Urban played a show in Athens, AL, Friday night in the parking lot of Buc-ee's.

All day long Friday, social media was buzzing with what was going down at Buc-ee' off of I-65, as photos started coming in all day about a stage being built in the parking lot. Rumors swirled around, some even including Keith Urban's name, but there was no official confirmation until late Friday afternoon that Mr. Urban would indeed be playing a show at 8:00 p.m. that night.

And once that confirmation came, it blew up quickly, as fans from all over North Alabama started packing into the parking lot to quickly grab a spot close to the stage. It is estimated that around 6,000 people attended the last minute pop-up show.

As a bonus, not only did he perform an incredible set, but he tried his hand at helping with those famous Buc-ee's sandwiches.

As someone who grew up in the punk and hardcore scene, this actually warms my heart because the "pop up show" or "guerilla show" DIY mentality is still alive to this day, even if it's a major country singer doing it.
