A second Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to Bradenton.

The fast-casual restaurant chain’s second location is at 5002 Cortez Road W., which was previously home to Boston Market, according to Bradenton building records and Chipotle’s website .

Of the 263 locations in Florida, four are in Manatee County. They are at 1608 Cortez Road W., Bradenton, 6020 U.S. 301, Ellenton and 11715 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch.

Chipotle’s menu consists of burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads, chips and sides, beverages and more. You can build your own bowl by choosing a protein, rice, beans, veggies and other toppings.

The chain is so popular that Olympic gold medalist Grant Holloway indulges with a Chipotle meal after training sessions, according to GQ. The outlet reported Holloway, who won the 2024 Olympic gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles in August, usually orders “a burrito, double rice, double chicken, side of barbacoa, corn, tomato, lettuce, cheese, a little bit of sour cream and some dressing on top.”

Steve Ells founded Chipotle, which is headquartered in Newport Beach, California, in 1993. The first Chipotle opened in Denver , Colorado, according to a Rocky Mountain News article.

An opening date for the new Chipotle restaurant on Cortez Road has not been publicly announced.

In June, the Bradenton Herald reported on Manatee County building records that show another Chipotle restaurant planned at 4640 State Road 70 E.
