1 seriously injured in Miami County house fire, family says

Homeowners in Miami County say their house is a total loss after a large garage fire early Saturday morning.

Around 5:52 a.m., Bradford Fire Department crews were dispatched to the 100 block of East Church Street on reports of a fire.

According to emergency scanner traffic, the garage was fully engulfed in flames.

Photos shared with News Center 7 showed a large fire in the garage, which spread to parts of the home. The garage was destroyed in the fire. Several vehicles also caught on fire.

The Covington Fire Department and the Gettysburg Fire Department responded to the scene as mutual aid, according to a Miami County dispatcher.

The homeowners told News Center 7 that a family of five, plus an aunt, was inside the house at the time of the fire.

The aunt sustained significant burns and was flown to the hospital in critical condition, according to the family.
