Power Outage Affecting Q Rock Radio

Forecasters are keeping their eyes to the skies as another round of severe storms are predicted to impact the Joliet area once again. The National Weather Service has placed the entire WJOL listening area in the Moderate (Level 4/5) risk, with all modes of wind, hail and tornadoes possible. Leeward Renewable Energy’s GSG Wind Project built 26 new turbines and recycled 100% of decommissioned wind turbines, adding numerous clean energy jobs in Illinois. The GSG Wind project, which stretches across 3,000 acres near West Brooklyn, Illinois, became commercially operational in 2007. A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northern Illinois early this morning. The earthquake occurred a little before 3 a.m. in Southern DeKalb County, near the town of Somonauk. The earthquake was felt in various locations including Winthrop Harbor, Cary, and Yorkville. Heather and Cory were awakened by the quake, initially mistaking it for a storm. Marcia in Winthrop Harbor reported feeling her house shake. A resident in Cary noticed the loud and rumbly noise, distinguishing it from thunder. Dan in Yorkville also felt the earthquake.
