Carl Scott, the acting police chief for the Village of Robbins, has been involved in what was described as a concerning incident, and is now no longer with the department. Chicago Con Artist Nabbed for Scamming Elderly Victims (Video)
Tejas Kumar Patel, a 21-year-old from Chicago, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of grand theft. Patel allegedly posed as a law enforcement officer to scam elderly victims. In May, he convinced an elderly man in Martin County to pay him $150,000 in gold bars to clear fake arrest warrants. Patel used pictures of what appeared to be legitimate identification to carry out the scam.
Armed robber who got shot by concealed carry holder gets 9-year prison sentence
CHICAGO — A Chicago man who got shot when he tried to rob a concealed carry holder in December 2022 has been handed a nine-year prison sentence. Jeremiah Brown, 19, pleaded guilty this week to attempted robbery in connection with the case. Three juveniles were also accused of participating in the crime.
