GOP candidate for governor keeps radio show as election watchdog declines to act
ELEC examined whether Bill Spadea’s daily show gives him ‘in-kind’ benefit in race for governor. After a hearing Friday to examine whether Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Spadea’s radio show constituted an improper contribution to his campaign as an in-kind service from Town Square Media, which owns the radio station, the Election Law Enforcement Commission took no action. It said it’s waiting for a complaint to be filed by the public before it does anything else.

‘Forever chemicals’ in N.J. drinking water caused man’s cancer, lawsuit says
A New Jersey native who developed testicular cancer as a teenager says it was the result of being overly exposed to harmful, man-made chemicals for over two decades, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday. In early 2020, a search for the perfect place to build the new Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey/Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center led the New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) to 165 Somerset St., home of the overcrowded Lincoln Annex School. In exchange for the property, DEVCO negotiated with the project’s major partner, RWJBarnabasHealth, to commit $55 million to build a new school at nearby 50 Jersey Avenue on land donated by the chair of the RWJ University Hospital board and developer Jack Morris.
