Midsummer Celebration held in Brantwood
BRANTWOOD — The Knox Creek Heritage Center held its annual Midsummer Celebration on June 22, welcoming community and visitors alike to three acres of historical period buildings dating back to the earliest European immigrants. The guests enjoyed a fantastic dinner of grilled burgers, brats and hot dogs along with all the fixings, from baked Beans and potato salad to coleslaw and lemonade. Tomahawk hosts 4th of July parade
Tomahawk is full of red, white and blue today. The city held its 4th of July parade this afternoon. The crowd gathered to watch more than 100 vehicles parade through the streets. It was organized by the Tomahawk Lions Club, which has been doing so for more than 60 years.
Principal resigns, positive referendum update
Kirsten Budimlija resigned from her position as principal of the Rib Lake middle and high schools following the 2023-2024 school year. The Rib Lake Board of Education voted to accept her resignation on June 26. “We are appreciative for her years of service in our district and for the lasting impacts she made on our students and community,” said District Administrator Travis Grubbs following the meeting. Referendum The mill rate for the Rib Lake referendum will likely be significantly lower than estimated.
