Frogenstein: Kentucky Mom Set to Release A ‘Silly, Spooky’ Children’s Book
Cloverport, Kentucky native Hallie Popham Tisher has lived in the small Breckinridge County community her entire life. However, her rather creative and adventurous mind has taken her many places- including Brescia University in Owensboro, where she earned a degree in Medical Technology. Professionally, Hallie has worked at Owensboro Health since 2018. She works full-time, is 'Mom' to two 'rambunctious' boys and enjoys spending time with the boys, her husband and her extended family.
Beyond the Books: What’s Happening at Your Library
All branches of the Breckinridge County Public Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. We have a busy week ahead of us at our Hardinsburg Main Library. On Friday, July 5, we have our weekly Storytime at 10 a.m., and starting on this day we will have Baby Song & Story every Friday at 11 a.m. On Monday, July 8, we have Adult & Teen Canvas Painting at 12 p.m. & 5 p.m., Adult Book Club at 1 p.m., and Teen Dungeons & Dragons to finish the day off at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, we have our weekly Storytime at 10 a.m. To finish the week out, we have our weekly Come-N-Go STEAM/Sensation Stations all day on Wednesday, July 10.
Several locals help rescue powered paraglider pilot after near-fatal crash on Rough River
OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro’s Chase Roberts, CC Web, Kirk Liebert, Joseph Woodard, and Natalie Cummings became instant heroes last week after springing into action when they witnessed an aircraft crash into Rough River Lake in Breckinridge County. The group immediately retrieved the pilot from the water and transported him by boat to the shore, where he was flown to a Louisville hospital.
Chamber of Commerce hosts annual banquet
The 2024 Greater Breckinridge County Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner last week at Rough River Dam State Resort Park. The yearly gathering of community and chamber members made for a special evening that was a huge success.
