A former Brick resident charged in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol was found guilty at trial of all four counts she faced, according to court records.

Anna Lichnowski, 37, who now lives in Florida, was arrested on July 25, 2023, and charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a capitol building. All are misdemeanors.

The FBI began receiving tips about Lichnowski's participation in the riot in early 2021.

A caller told the FBI that Lichnowski posted pictures on Facebook of herself inside the Capitol building, and although she deleted them, continued to talk about taking part in the insurrection, according to the court documents. The caller was in touch with one of Lichnowski's relatives, who sent the caller a screenshot of a message Lichnowski sent to the relative, which said "And yes. I was with the group that f****** stormed the capital. And I’m proud of it,” according to a prior Asbury Park Press story.

At least nine people died in connection with the riot , including five police officers, four of whom committed suicide.

The FBI obtained photos that showed Lichnowski inside the Capitol. She exited about 30 minutes after she entered, according to the court documents.

On Aug. 8, 2022, a federal agent investigating the tips interviewed a Brick detective who knew Lichnowski as an acquaintance when they were growing up. He identified Licnhowski in three stills taken from surveillance video of the Capitol building during the riot, the court documents said.

Lichnowski was found gulity July 11 after a three-day bench trial - a trial overseen by a judge without a jury - before U.S. District Court Judge Reggie B. Walton in Washington, D.C.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 8.

Walton continued Lichnowski's conditions of release, said one of her attorneys, Terrell N. Roberts III, who declined further comment.

Lichnowski was freed on her own recognizance after being charged.
