Mayor Ganim and the City of Bridgeport Remind Residents of Household Bulk Pickup for its Second Phase
Bridgeport, CT – This year’s Household Bulk Trash Pickup Program has returned for its second phase of the season. This program gives residents the opportunity to discard large items, such as furniture and appliances, that may be difficult to transport to the Transfer Station and are not part of regular weekly trash collection. The program will have different guidelines for removal this year, where residents will be able to discard trash on scheduled date periods specified by the Department of Public Facilities, depending on the district. This will further give residents the flexibility to have their pickup completed at a time that is most convenient for them.

Some Danbury Residents Doing Without Hot Water
Residents of Glen Apartments in Danbury have been without hot water for days now, following a power outage that took place almost one week ago. The power went out around 9:30PM last Wednesday and was restored the next morning, but hot water issues began last Thursday afternoon. The water heater was reset and temporarily fixed, but the problem recurred again on Saturday. City Hall said a crew was working to restore hot water by the end of yesterday. Glen Apartments is managed by the Danbury Housing Authority. It serves older residents and those with disabilities.

Marsan sworn in as fire chief: ‘Mission first, people always’
WESTPORT — Nicholas Marsan, a Westport firefighter since 2007 and deputy fire chief since 2022, was sworn in Monday as the Fire Department’s new chief. Marsan, joined by members of the Fire Department’s command staff, family and friends, was administered the oath of office by First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker during a ceremony in Town Hall. He succeeds interim Chief Mark Amatrudo.
