Delaware State Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle crash near Bridgeville that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Maryland man.

The man killed in the crash has been identified as Djifenson Dorilus of Salisbury, Maryland.

Dorilus was driving a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe south in a northbound lane of Sussex Highway (Route 13) just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

As Dorilus drove in the wrong direction, police said he soon came upon a 46-year-old Millsboro man who was driving north in a 2017 Dodge Durango.

Both men were approaching each other in the highway's left lane, police said.

In an attempt to avoid the Hyundai, police said the Dodge driver moved into the highway's right lane — but so did Dorilus.

As a result, police said the vehicles crashed, causing the Hyundai to overturn onto its roof.

Dorilus was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died Thursday, police said.

The Dodge driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact investigators at (302) 703-3264. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook Message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) 847-3333.
