10-year-old girl in critical condition after car crash in Bluffdale
BLUFFDALE — A 10-year-old girl was transported by medical helicopter in critical condition Sunday after two cars collided at an intersection. The accident happened at the intersection of Porter Rockwell Boulevard and Redwood Road, according to Anne Elise Harrison with the Saratoga Springs Police Department. A car was going north on Redwood Road and passing through an intersection with a green light when a different car going east on Porter Rockwell Boulevard ran a red light and hit the first vehicle, Harrison said.

A wildfire in Salt Lake City forced people living uphill from Utah's state capitol to evacuate, and it remained uncontained Sunday as more than 100 firefighters worked to protect nearby homes.Helicopters and airplanes were dropping buckets over the flames as ground crews tried to contain the fire on Ensign Peak. Margarito Parra, operator of El Asadero, a west-side Mexican restaurant, had been told by the prior developer of an apartment building taking shape next to his business that he'd have to leave to make way for more apartments. It's been the source of plenty of worry over the last two years as the initial building west of his restaurant, still incomplete, has risen from the ground, reducing traffic at El Asadero.

SALT LAKE CITY — A group of six Utah teenagers will travel to France on Sunday to participate in a global youth sports festival ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Utah high school athletes will participate in a week of activities with 500 youth from 36 countries. The Utah delegation is one of only five from North America.
