    High-speed car chase ends with crash in Edina; three children arrested

    Edina Police arrested three children after they took two stolen cars on a high-speed chase, crashing one in Edina Tuesday morning.

    Edina PD says it received reports at around 6:45 a.m. of a group of people stealing a Toyota Tacoma near the 5100 block of Abercrombie Drive. The group was also driving a black Kia, which had been reported stolen from Inver Grove Heights.

    While officers were en route, the Tacoma and Kia started driving at high speeds through various neighborhoods to escape.

    The Kia crashed into another car near the Tracy Avenue ramp to Highway 62.

    The suspects fled, but one child was immediately arrested, with police also finding a handgun in the Kia.

    Officers set up a perimeter to search for the suspects, and by 9 a.m., they found two more hiding near Hwy. 62 and Tracy. Charges against all three are pending.

    The Tacoma driven towards St. Louis Park and was later recovered in Minneapolis.

    No injuries have been reported in the incident The case is under active investigation.
