Body of a missing woman found by Red River early Tuesday

Moorhead Police are investigating a homicide after finding the body of a missing woman along Red River on Tuesday.

Officers received a report of a missing person around 12:30 a.m. in the area of 6th Avenue and Elm Street South, and while searching the area, they found her body along the Red River.

In an update Tuesday afternoon, Moorhead PD said that a suspect was taken into custody in Fargo and is being held at Cass County Jail on pending homicide charges.

"The suspect and victim were known to each other," the police updated added.

The victim's name has not been shared at this time.
