The Moorhead community is mourning the death of 14-year-old Jaelyn Walker, who authorities say was murdered Monday by an 18-year-old Fargo man.

"Please keep Jaelyn’s strong-willed spirit alive in the journey for #JusticeForJaelyn," an obituary for Walker states .

A visitation and funeral service is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Prairie Heights Church in West Fargo, North Dakota. Her burial is scheduled to follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Moorhead.

The suspect in Walker's death, Isaac Arndt, is charged with second-degree murder.

According to the criminal complaint , Arndt admitted to stabbing Walker more than a dozen times at Moorhead’s Gooseberry Park before dragging her body to an area along the Red River and fleeing the scene.

Arndt allegedly told authorities he and Walker had been in a “romantic relationship”, which had recently ended.

    Remembering Jaelyn

“Jae was our beautiful, blue eyed, fearless, and feisty girl who loved singing and, although she kept it to herself, she had a beautiful voice,” an obituary shares.

Walker also loved her cats, spending time at the lake and Anime, according to the remembrance .

"There was no one who adored and loved her more than her big brothers and little sister, whom she loved equally as much," the obituary shares. "There was nothing Jae loved more than snuggling in bed with her mama, favorite snacks in hand, or sitting in a fishing boat for hours with her dad.”
