A power outage impacted a number of areas of the Minnesota State Fair on Friday evening.

A number of food stands and buildings in the Grandstand, Liggett Street and Judson Avenue were impacted by the outage, which was reported at 4:19 p.m. and lasted for more than an hour, with power restored at 5:39 p.m.

Vendors have told Bring Me The News at the time that "the whole southern area lost power and everything that's open has backup generators."

    Affected stands included:

    • Parts of Adventure Park, including Skyscraper and Slingshot
    • Aldo's Burgers in the Coliseum
    • Buni's
    • Butcher Boys
    • Cranston's Famous Scotch Eggs
    • Dairy Building (partial)
    • Mexican Hat
    • Minneapple Pie
    • Pork Chop on a Stick
    • Pretzel Dogs
    • Waffle Chix

In a statement, the Minnesota State Fair said: "Minnesota State Fair officials first received a report of a localized power outage at 4:19 p.m. Crews with Xcel Energy responded and were able to replace a fuse. Power was fully restored at 5:39 p.m.," it said,

"In addition to booths in the area south of the Grandstand, several attractions and vendors along Judson Avenue, Liggett Street and Underwood Street were impacted during that time – including the Skyscraper ride at Adventure Park. Two people were on the ride at the time of the outage. They were lowered and safely removed from the ride within five minutes. Both were uninjured.

    "Normal operations have resumed."
