So many people from South Louisiana will be traveling I-10 in the next day or two for their Fourth of July celebrations and they'll soon be on their favorite beach. For the Fourth, beachgoers from across Acadiana will want to cool off or relax in places like Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Pensacola, and Destin, Florida. Sadly, we've had several reports of drownings already this summer and the gulf may be a bit unfriendly days after Independence Day.

For the second weekend in a row, Team Supreme has risen to the top in a local billfish tournament. After placing first in the release division in the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Baytown Marina in Sandestin the weekend of June 21-23, Capt. Chase Lake and the crew aboard Team Supreme took top honors in the same division in the Bay Point Billfish Classic June 27-29 on Panama City Beach.
