    28,000 homes still without power following Twin Cities storms

    More than 28,000 homes are still without power due to the severe storms that passed through the state on Monday and Tuesday.

    Xcel Energy has been working to restore power throughout the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin after the recent storms, which caused almost 250,000 homes to lose power as two rounds of severe winds moved through the region Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

    In an update , Xcel confirmed that crews have restored power to 70% of customers after navigating widespread damage, including fallen trees and downed power lines.

    "We estimate power will be restored to most customers by the end of the day Thursday," says Xcel.
