Crossroads of Caring to hold Butterfly Release
Crossroads of Caring is planning its 2nd Annual Butterfly Release. This special event, which serves as a fundraiser, will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Riverbend Multi-Use Field in Genesee Valley Park (1000 East River Road, Genesee Riverway Trail, Rochester). Fidelis Care gives away fresh produce during “Veggies to Go” event
Fidelis Care gave away 150 bags of fresh produce during a “Veggies to Go” event at the Brockport Area Veterans Club on Wednesday, June 26. The “Veggies to Go” program provides free fruits and vegetables to individuals and families in need as a way to address nutrition and food insecurity in communities statewide. Jennifer Lyons, the director of sales and marketing at Fidelis Care, says that Fidelis holds these events in both rural and urban areas because food insecurity is everywhere, and that, ultimately, nutrition is part of healthcare. Since the program began in August 2022, “Veggies to Go” has provided more than 57,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables.
