The FDNY responded to a fire at a Highbridge building on Tuesday and rescued not people - but chickens. Video from the scene that took place just before 12 p.m. shows dozens of chickens in cages. Those fowl were found in the basement of a residential building on West 170th St., where the fire took place. Animal control officials tell News 12 that it's perfectly legal to own chickens in New York. They say the chickens were removed before they arrived in order for the FDNY to assess the fire. No injuries have been reported at this fire - that includes chickens and Bronx residents alike. "
