    "

Eight Bronx men have been indicted and charged with selling firearms, cocaine and methamphetamine near Yankee Stadium, according to the Bronx district attorney. Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark says that one of the defendants “allegedly sold eight guns to an undercover NYPD officer” and in doing so “allegedly put thousands of subway commuters, those who work and go to school nearby, and baseball fans in jeopardy." The investigation began last March outside of 90 East 161st St., where Lust Smoke Shop once was. An undercover investigator allegedly purchased cocaine and methamphetamine pills from one of the defendants. Further investigations uncovered alleged cooking, packing and selling of cocaine at addresses along University Avenue near the East 161st Street storefront. These investigations also uncovered alleged firearm sales, including blocks away from Yankee Stadium at the intersection of Gerard Avenue and East 161st Street. The defendants include men ranging in ages from 21 to 60 years old. The indictment brings 108 charges on the men, including first-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a firearm, among other charges. Five of the eight defendants were arraigned on Tuesday, and the other three suspects have pending arraignments. "
