Lakeside's Thomas Dwyer commits to play college football at South Dakota State

Lakeside Lutheran senior offensive lineman Thomas Dwyer committed to play college football at South Dakota State University recently.

Dwyer, who is 6-foot-7 and 290 pounds, was a first team all-conference pick on the offensive line in Capitol Conference voting last fall.

Dwyer, who played right tackle last season, helped pave the way for a ground-based Warriors attack which amassed 2,958 yards on 6.3 yards per attempt while scoring 39 touchdowns en route to an 8-4 season and Level 3 berth in 2023.

Dwyer, a three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and baseball, is slated to join former teammate and line stalwart Ben Buxa, now a sophomore at the University of North Dakota, in the Division 1 football ranks as former Warriors players.

Lakeside checked in at No. 6 on the WisSports.net Preseason Poll in Division 4 and officially will get preparations for its 2024 campaign underway when practice begins on Aug. 6.
