Rincon Woman Indicted for Allegedly Claiming Deceased Veteran’s Benefits in Southern Georgia
The former spouse of a deceased U.S. Army veteran, Miranda Rachel Briggs, has been indicted for wire fraud and theft of government funds, according to an announcement by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Georgia. Briggs, 33, from Rincon, Georgia, was charged with unlawfully claiming the veteran's benefits after his death. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years behind bars along with significant fines.

Parker’s Kitchen to Add Two Georgia Locations
Savannah, Ga.-based Parker’s Kitchen has filed construction documents for two new-to-industry locations in southeast Georgia, reported What Now Atlanta. According to the documents, the proposed sites would be located in Bloomingdale, Ga., on Old River Road and Little Neck Road, respectively. Plans indicate that the Old River Road location would feature 16 fuel pumps and a 5,175-square-foot c-store.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A major doctor shortage in the Carolinas is impacting patient health. Many are waiting several months or a year to get an appointment. According to data from the Association of American Medical Colleges, the doctor shortage is about twice as bad in the Carolinas and Georiga compared to some northern states. The Carolinas has around 200 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Massachusetts, Maryland, and New York have about 400 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Patients say this is taking a serious toll on their health.
