In it’s 71st year, Manchester Chicken Broil still draws large crowds
MANCHESTER, MI – Crowds of people, plates of chicken and plenty of smiles made up the 71st annual Manchester Chicken Broil on Saturday. The popular event July 20 at Alumni Memorial Field, brought together around 8,000 thousand people as roughly 400 volunteers made 10,000 dinners to raise money to update the field’s facilities and buildings.

The Great Lakes National Trail Ride starts in September
Come ride with us September 20-22! The Great Lakes National Trail Ride starts Saturday September 21 at 9 a.m. at the Waterloo Horseman's Camp in Chelsea, Michigan. Bring a dish to pass for the potluck Saturday night at the pavilion. We will offer a silent auction also at the Waterloo pavilion. We are accepting donated items for the auction so there will be a nice selection to bid on. Make your site reservations now via midnrreservations.com for the Waterloo Horseman's Camp (rustic) or at the nearby Farmlane Campground (electric) by contacting Donny at 734-260-9009. Or you can pull in for the day and ride with us too. If you are also a Missouri Fox Trotter Horse Breed Association member, you will earn a point toward an award in the Fox Trot America program. There is a $10 fee to participate in this ride. The ride form can be found on our website (michiganfoxtrottinghorse.com). Please bring your completed form with $10 and turn them in to Marilyn Mannino no later than Saturday morning before the ride starts.

The Manchester District Library will host Janet from River Raisin Beekeepers Club on Saturday, August 3, at 11am in the upstairs lounge on the mezzanine level.
