Downtown Brooklyn’s Fourth of July Parade will take place July 4, with parade line-up at 9:30 a.m. on Irwin Street. There will be activities taking place all day leading up to the fireworks at the Columbia Upper Elementary School. Walker Tavern Historic Site/Cambridge Junction Historic State Park invites you from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, to enjoy a cool evening in the shaded lawn of the Hewitt House as you listen to some live music by Jackson Uke with Patriotic Theme. Bring a friend, bring a lawn chair, bring a picnic and celebrate summer. The Friends of Walker Tavern will have their root beer for sale. Admission is free. Donations are accepted. Recreation Passport required for park entry.
The Great American Crab Races, presented by M-R Builders and hosted by The Beach Bar take place Thursday July 11 through Saturday July 13. Kids races are at 1 p.m. on Saturday and the adult races start each night at 6 p.m. For more information contact Linda at 745-2466.
