    At least 9 people injured in Brooklyn apartment fire: FDNY

    BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – At least nine people were injured Tuesday morning in a Brooklyn apartment fire, according to the FDNY.

    It broke out on Evergreen Avenue in Bushwick around 2:50 a.m. The FDNY said 60 firefighters and EMS workers responded to the scene.

    The fire started on the first floor, according to fire officials. One person suffered life-threatening injuries in the fire, per the FDNY.

    At least 17 people were inside the building when the fire broke out, including nine children, officials said.

    It was put out around 3:30 a.m. Arson is possibly the cause of the fire, according to the NYPD.
