    Brooklyn officials helping residents protect their catalytic converters

    Keeping your car in one piece isn't always easy, especially with catalytic converter thieves - but Brooklyn officials are looking to help. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez teamed up with state Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton to host a free event in Manhattan Beach on Friday. Brooklyn residents were able to get their car's catalytic converters registered in an NYPD database known as "Cat-Guard." The database helps police track down stolen converters and get the converter thief in handcuffs. "
