The Brooklyn Nets put together their Las Vegas Summer League roster with the intent of not only getting back to the semi-finals, but also winning a championship in the process. One of the players that the Nets were hoping could help them get that far is possibly getting another opportunity with another team.

Per Brian Lewis of the New York Post, guard Jacob Gilyard is no longer with the Nets’ summer league team and it doesn’t seem to be an issue of injury or something to that effect. Lewis implies in his post on X that Gilyard may not be with the team anymore because of his play in Las Vegas possibly impressing other teams.

To Lewis’ point, Gilyard had an great performance in Tuesday’s 92-85 win over the New York Knicks to help the Nets get to a 2-1 record and keep the team in the race to the semi-finals. In a little over 30 minutes, Gilyard put up 13 points, three assists, and seven steals while shooting 4-of-8 from three-point land in the contest.

Gilyard, 26 , came to the Nets during the 2023-24 season after being released by the Memphis Grizzlies in February. Gilyard signed a Two-Way deal with Brooklyn and appeared in four games during the season, averaging 11.3 minutes played per game along with 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per outing.
