The three-year-old boy mauled by two pit bulls in Brooklyn Park last week will not survive his injuries.

The tragic update regarding the condition of Champlin toddler Covil Allen was issued on a GoFundMe page for his family, stating that the family had begun the process of donating his organs.

“This will honor Covil’s life and save more children’s lives in hopes that no other parent has to endure the pain that they are experiencing right now,” the post reads.

According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers responded to the reported attack on the 7500 block of Brooklyn Park Drive North on July 19. At the scene, officers found "two pit bulls actively attacking the child," inflicting critical injuries.

The dogs had also attacked the child’s mother, Natasha Vega, who has undergone two surgeries since the attack and will require a third.

Several officers opened fire, killing one of the dogs and injuring the other.

As of Thursday, the fundraiser had reached more than $19,000 of its $35,000 goal.

It was the first of two dog attacks in Brooklyn Park this week, with a 7-year-old girl suffering injuries in an attack on the 7500 block of North Janelle Avenue on Tuesday, with the dog killed by police when it also tried to attack a boy as officers attempted to secure it.
