    Broomfield-based cybersecurity company will axe 80 jobs this fall

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — LogRyhtym Inc ., a Broomfield-based cybersecurity company, announced plans to lay off 80 workers by Sept. 9.

    In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification sent to state regulators on July 16, the company said it plans to reduce its workforce because of “ a recent corporat e transaction.” According to its website, the company has 500 employees in 9 countries.

    On Jul y 17, LogRhythym announced it had successfully merged with Exabeam, another cybersecurity company based in California. The merger was announced on May 15.

    While the entire facility in Broomfield will not close entirely, the Axon Operating unit will “experience a Plant Closing.” The unit provides a cloud-based security information and event management platform. According to a note on its website, LogRhythym’s Axon product is being “upgraded to the cloud-native Exabeam Security Operations Platform .”

    The company plans to use artificial intelligence, cloud technology and enterprise security to enhance its cybersecurity offerings.

    LogRhythym noted that the 80 workers to be laid off either work remotely, in person or receive assignments from the office on Interlocken Crescent. The layoffs are expected to be effective from Sept. 9 through Sept. 14.
