Duo Arrested For Forklift Theft Spree, Stealing More Than $500K In Machines

Miami Gardens, FL - Two Broward County men have been arrested in connection with the theft of over a dozen forklifts from a Doral business.

Authorities say 20-year-old Eddie Jean-Baptiste, of Plantation, and 19-year-old Elijah Torrealba, of Coconut Creek, face multiple felony charges.

The pair are accused of breaking into Forklift Parts & Equipment on Sunday and stealing 15 forklifts valued at approximately $500,000.

Surveillance footage captured the burglary and helped authorities identify the suspects and their vehicles.

Police recovered 10 of the stolen forklifts and arrested the suspects after a high-speed chase.

Both men resisted arrest and face additional charges, including weapons and drug offenses.

An investigation into Sunday's theft is ongoing.
