The woman told deputies that she allowed her nephew, identified as 25-year-old Leonel Puga Jr., to stay at her apartment. She also said Puga had taken some of her property without consent and pawned it, the release stated.

The items taken, according to the aunt, were a 32-inch TV, a power drill, and a battery pack. She told authorities her nephew refused to return the items to her.

When deputies made contact with Puga, he confessed he had stolen the items and traded them for crack cocaine and could not recover them, the release added.

Puga was placed under arrest for theft, a class B misdemeanor. He was transported to Carrizales Rucker Detention Center for arraignment.
