The Waupun mayor says it’s still uncertain whether the community will be eligible for money from the Wisconsin Disaster Fund to recoup costs incurred from last month’s flood. Mayor Rohn Bishop says a federal disaster declaration has not been issued, and emergency management directors are working with Dodge and Fond du Lac County officials to determine if Waupun meets the threshold for the Wisconsin Disaster Fund. Months after Governor Tony Evers and DOC promised to lift restrictions and increase staff in Wisconsin prisons late last year, the two prisons are transitioning out of a state of “modified movement.” Green Bay Correctional started offering increased recreation periods late last month with the aim of returning to normal operations at the end of this month.
