Brundidge Police Chief Sam C. Green said the Brundidge Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two people.

Green said Heather Minton, 40 of Troy, died from injuries sustained in a crash that occurred on Pike County Road 4421 in Brundidge Thursday evening.

Green said a juvenile passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to a medical facility and later succumbed to injuries.

Green said six other victims in the crash were transported to medical facilities and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Green said the cause of the accident is undetermined and the crash is being investigated by the BPD, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Pike County Coroner’s Office, and the Pike County District Attorney’s Office.

Green said he sends his condolences and prayers to all families involved. Green said he would also like to thank the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Troy Fire Department, Brundidge Fire Department and Haynes Ambulance for responding and to assist at the scene.
