City of Brundidge to receive more than $400K from new state funding

On Monday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced that the Renewal of Alabama Commission has allocated more than $15 million in Growing Alabama funding to economic development organizations across the state, including the City of Brundidge.

As a part of the funding, Brundidge will receive $473,275 for site work and public infrastructure at North Industrial Park.

The Growing Alabama program provides tax credits to eligible taxpayers who make contributions to development organizations for approved qualifying projects. Alabama taxpayers receive a tax credit equal to their donation to development organizations. The program promotes economic development by funding industrial site readiness.

The Industrial Development Board of the City of Auburn will also receive $2.76 million, the City of Enterprise will receive $2.9 million, the City of Fort Payne will receive $1.07 million, The Greene County Industrial Development Authority will receive $1.31 million, The Lake Martin Area Industrial Development Authority will receive $2.5 million and The Walker County Economic & Industrial Development Authority will receive $4.71 million.

“ We’ve been on a long winning streak when it comes to economic development, but we need to replenish our inventory of available industrial sites across the state to stay in the game,” said Ivey . “The Growing Alabama program is helping us do just that.”
