A Door County hard cider maker wins multiple awards in national competitions
ELLISON BAY - A Door County-based hard cider maker recently won two platinum medals and two gold medals in two cider tasting competitions. Island Orchard Cider was recognized with two platinum medals and one gold medal in the Cidercraft Awards and a gold medal in the Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition, the world’s largest international hard cider competition. Those medals are among 11 awards Island Orchard earned in the 2024 hard cider competition season.

BHC Offers Belgian Bus Tour
The Belgian Heritage Center (BHC) will offer a one-hour narrated bus tour of the Belgian settlement, in partnership with the Brussels Lions Club, on July 13. BHC’s Historian Barb Chisholm will take attendees to see chapels, traditional Belgian houses, summer kitchen, cemeteries and where the first Kermiss was held.
“Paint The Music” Brings Improvisational Art
ARTicipation Studio and Gallery will host the artist currently known as “Tim” as he creates music-based improvisational art with PAINT THE MUSIC, July 12. The featured musicians will be Jana Nyberg Meckler on flute, vocals and keys, Jake Nyberg on percussion, and Adam Meckler on brass and guitar.
Fine Line Announces Second Exhibit
Fine Line Designs Gallery announced its second exhibit of the 2024 season, which will begin on July 11 with an artist reception that same evening from 4 – 6:30 pm. The exhibit will feature the oil paintings by longtime Fine Line artist, Pamela Murphy, oil and acrylic works by Jane Foley Ferraro and glass pieces by Nicholas Stelter.
