A Hopkinsville man has been named an associate pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta where civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. preached. The Rev. Donavan Pinner, who recently graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with the Master of Divinity, will serve as the associate pastor for children and youth at Ebenezer. Pinner studied philosophy and religion at Morehouse College in Atlanta before enrolling at Princeton.
Metro Councilmembers give away portable AC units to families in need
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Several Metro Councilmembers came together to give out portable AC units to low-income residents who are living without air conditioning. District 21 Metro Councilwoman Betsy Ruhe started the project after the death of 17-year-old Christian Ruhekenya last summer. Christian died from carbon monoxide poisoning after going to sleep in a car when his family’s air conditioning went out.

East Louisville community hopes to form new city in Jefferson County under new state law
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new law just took effect allowing Jefferson County residents to form their own cities. The proposed city of Eastwood would include at least 32 neighborhoods with HOA's starting near Valhalla and go up to the county line near Long Run Park and down to sections of Taylorsville Road.
