Excelsior Springs, MO — A 52-year-old Excelsior Springs man has died following a head-on collision that responders believed was caused by a medical emergency. Brett K. Nelson was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Dunbar Avenue when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2022 Ford F150 driven by 67-year-old Lloyd R. Baxter, also of Excelsior Springs. The devastating crash occurred on July 22 at approximately 11:56 a.m. in a quiet neighborhood where the speed limit is only 25 miles per hour.
