Two women-owned shops are laying down roots in downtown Sellersville with a shared grand opening celebration on Saturday.

Just One More Plant, a boutique houseplant store relocating from Quakertown, and The Fizzy Fern, a brand-new gourmet soda and beverage bar, will join the town’s growing cultural district, taking over the former Pickers Junction space on North Main Street.

The Fizzy Fern will be located inside the plant shop, where customers can sit and sip or enjoy a drink while they explore the retail space.

Just One More Plant in Quakertown moves to Sellersville

Just One More Plant specializes in houseplants including rare tropicals, succulents and easy to care for beginner plants, as well as pottery and accessories needed to grow and maintain healthy plants.

The plant shop’s move from Quakertown comes as owner Erin Volovnik marks her fourth year in business.

“We are so excited to be coming to downtown Sellersville and look forward to being able to grow along with the community. We love being in this walkable community and joining the other local shops downtown. We are so looking forward to this exciting new chapter for us,” said Volovnik.

In addition to its retail offerings, the store hosts create-your-own workshops each weekend offering hands-on horticultural experiences. Upcoming projects include make-your-own floral brooms and moss moon succulent hangers. A full list of events can be found online.

Looking for ways to round out the overall experience for their customers, Volovnik partnered with longtime employee, Kate Garrity, to bring the craft soda shop to Just One More Plant.

“Over our time working together, we would grow ideas off of each other, and we wanted to add another element to it and came up with the beverage bar,” Garrity said. “It’s a unique blend of nature and flavor. We wanted to offer a way for people to stay longer, have an experience and meet friends in a relaxing atmosphere.”

What’s on the menu at Sellersville’s new gourmet soda shop

The Fizzy Fern serves customizable sodas made using only all-natural cane sugar, plus lemonade refreshers and Lotus plant-based energy drinks, all in a variety of options to create fun and unique flavors. Fresh baked goods from neighboring White Squirrel Kitchen will be available for purchase as well.

A full list of offerings can be viewed online, but here are just some of the drinks you can expect to find on the menu:

    • Sellersville Sunset: soda with orange, pineapple and strawberry puree
    • root beer with toasted marshmallow, vanilla, chocolate syrup and cream
    • Lavender Haze: lemonade with lavender and coconut cream
    • Mean Tajin: gold lotus energy drink with mango, watermelon, chamoy, tajin and club soda
