    Bucks County competitors earn track medals at Junior Olympic Games

    A total of 16 Bucks County area athletes from the Ambler Olympic Club earned individual medals and accompanying All-American status at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Greensboro, North Carolina.

    Ava Edwards of Keith Valley Middle School in Horsham led the way with a first-place finish in the 13-year-old girls' 400-meter run (55.0 seconds) and ended up third in the 200 meters.

    Edwards also anchored the 4x400 13- and 14-year-old relay to a second-place showing in 3:53.13. She was joined on the relay by Yardley's Foluke Oladeji, Keira Tomlinson of Holicong Middle School in Buckingham Township and Nnenna Ibeh.

    Chalfont's Stefon Dodoo won the 18-and-under 800 meters in 1:50.69, while siblings Saiin Patel and Shyna Petal from North Wales picked up gold medals in race walking. Saiin took the 11-and-under boys' 1,500 race walk in 7:32.46 and Shyna secured the 14-and-under girls' 3000 race walk (16:43.26).

    Tessa Taggart from Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Doylestown finished second in the 12-year-old girls' 800, was third in the 400 meters and also anchored the 11-12 4x400 relay to a second-place showing.

    Gabriel Anderson of Abington took second in the 13 boys' 100 hurdles, with Lansdale's Audriana Carr gaining a fourth in the girls' 11-year-old 400 meters.

    Lansdale's Nicholas Judge was fifth in the 12-year-old boys shot put and Upper Moreland's Angela Manila wound up fifth in the 17-18 girls' javelin.

    Rounding out the individual medalists were a quartet of eighth-placers in Holicong's Isha Awasthi (13-year-old girls 1,500), Abington's Tytiana Nelson (girls' 14 pentathlon), Germantown Academy's Nieve Keitel (15-16 girls 1,500) and Holicong's Tomlinson (14-year-old girls 800).

    The top eight finishers at the meet, which lasted from July 27-Aug. 4 in Greensboro, garnered medals and All-American status.
