Las Vegas, NV (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Sabres wrap up the 2024 NHL Draft selecting goaltender Ryerson Leenders from Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League with the 219th pick.

Leenders appeared in 46 games with the Steelheads posting a 24-17-4 record and lead the OHL in save percentage (.909). He also recorded a .933 save percentage in two playoff games in 2024.

Leenders is the 10th-ranked goaltender in North America by NHL Central Scouting, and earned a gold medal with team Canada in the IIHF U-18 World Championship. Leenders also won the gold medal with team Canada at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Elite Prospects views Leenders as a goaltender with an average frame, but takes up a lot of the net. His stance is balanced and narrow when the puck is worked around the zone, which gives him excellent access to his edges and keeps him patient on odd-man rush attempts. He rarely makes the first move, and can make last-second adjustments with his edgework

Sabres prospects camp begins on July 1 at Harborcenter and will run through July 4.
