BUFFALO, New York (WJW) – An American Airlines flight made an emergency stop on in New York on Wednesday after investigators say a passenger exposed himself to others on the plane.

A flight attendant told airport police that a man, later identified as 25-year-old Neil McCarthy of Oregon, allegedly exposed himself during the flight and urinated in the aisle, the criminal complaint says.

McCarthy was escorted off the plane and arrested. He’s charged with indecent exposure and could face up to six months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

A spokesperson told People in a statement that the flight, originally heading from Chicago to Manchester, New Hampshire, made an emergency landing in Buffalo because of a “disruptive customer.”

Court records say McCarthy made his first appearance in court Thursday afternoon before being released on his own recognizance.
