Getaway driver in Clinton St. bar shooting sentenced to 10 years in prison

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - 52-year-old Luis Martinez of Buffalo has been sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 5 years of parole for his role as a getaway driver in a 2021 shooting on Clinton Street.

The incident happened outside of a Buffalo tavern. Martinez and his twin brother, Jose, got into a fight at the tavern and were thrown out. The two left the bar and returned a short time later, with Jose Martinez opening fire on several patrons outside the bar.

Luis Martinez was found guilty in May of 2024 of 2nd degree attempted murder, 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon and 2nd degree assault.

Jose Martinez previously plead guilty and was given the same sentence.
