BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo woman was sentenced to 30 days in prison and two years of supervised release after being convicted of making a materially false statement during a murder investigation, the United States District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

In March 2023, Deandre Wilson, of Buffalo, was convicted by a federal jury and sentenced to serve three consecutive life sentences plus 30 years for the murders of Miguel Anthony Valentin-Colon, Nicole Marie Merced-Plaud, and Dhamyl Roman-Audiffred in September 2019.

The FBI executed a search warrant at 46-year-old Deshema Clark’s residence during a federal criminal investigation in October 2019, officials said. During the search, Clark spoke with an FBI Special Agent and then went to Buffalo Police Department Headquarters where she provided a voluntary statement to law enforcement.

According to officials, Clark knowingly made several false statements about the whereabouts of Wilson from the evening of Sept. 15, 2019 through the morning of Sept. 16. She falsely said that both she and Wilson returned to her home after attending a concert on the night of Sept. 15, ate dinner and went to sleep.

Clark also falsely stated that a few hours later, Wilson was still sleeping when she woke up. She told investigators that she didn’t remember Wilson leaving her home in the night.

Officials said Clark knew that Wilson didn’t stay at her residence, eat dinner and go to sleep.

Clark originally pleaded guilty to making a materially false statement in April 2024.
